10,000 Shot Club Club Summer Challenge

Between June to September, take 10,000 shots. This Summer Challenge is designed to encourage girls in the Appleton North Girls Basketball Club (ANGBC), grades K-8, to practice their shooting on a regular basis. A player’s shooting form eventually becomes natural and more difficult to change with each shot taken. Therefore, it is very important that proper form and drills be followed. Players with poor form who shoot thousands of shots will have a more difficult time breaking their bad habits when compared to players with good form and good habits.

Players reaching 10,000 shots this off-season will receive a t-shirt and be recognized at Youth Night of a varsity basketball game

How to Participate:

Players need to keep track of shots taken from June through September. The competition will only allow a player to record approximately 150 shots per day to get the player out shooting on a regular, almost daily basis, if they want to reach the goal of 10,000 Shots. However, players can shoot more than 150 shots per day, given that they are taken following proper form and drills. Attending the North Team Camp or Syd Levy Academy will give them a bonus of 100 shots for that day.

There is a shared Google spreadsheet where players can record their shots. They will also be able to see how many shots their teammates have taken. We hope this influences some friendly competition and encouragement. Email appletonnorthhoops@gmail.com to receive a link to the shared Google spreadsheet.

If you prefer not to use the Google Spreadsheet, you can still participate. Shots can be recorded on the provided calendar. Parents need to sign off on the made shots at the end so the board knows the parent feels their daughter approached this honestly. Calendar records with parent signatures need to be submitted to their ANGBC by October 10th. Please make sure to include your name on the sheets when you hand them in.
